Rich Peverly (38) is the center of the National Hockey League. He has been playing professionally for seven years. He is currently playing for the Dallas Stars after being traded to the Atlanta Thrashers in 2011. At Lawrence University while in Holy, he had a good hockey career, so he signed a professional contract with the American Hockey League before joining the NHL in 2007.
March 10, 2014 was a terrifying moment for hockey players. During the match against Columbus Blue Jackets, Peverly crashed on the bench during the first period. Peverly had just finished playing for more than five minutes and was removed from the game for a break. When he sits on the couch, he just collapses. The players started hitting the sticks, drawing the attention of the people involved and stopping the game.
He was soon taken to the dressing room by medical staff, where he finally regained consciousness. He later moved to UT Southwestern Street. Paul University transferred. Dallas Stars coach Lindiraf explained that her team was unable to finish play. The match has been postponed. A team spokesman later announced that it was due to Peverly’s unstable heart condition.
Unfortunately, this is not the first time Peverly has received emergency treatment. In September 2013, before the Stars 2013-14 training camp began, Peverly underwent surgery to help with the arrhythmia.
Peverly is married to Natalie and the couple has a daughter named Isabella.
