Walt Disney Studios has released trailers and posters for Hybrid Live-action/CG-Animated Actions of Chip ‘N Dale: Rescue Rangers, which featured titular duo in Limelight 30 years after their hit ended in 1990. This film will be available for streaming on May 20, 2022, exclusively at Disney+.
Chip ‘N Dale: Rangers rescue will be led by John Mulay (Saturday Night Live) as a chip, Andy Samberg (Palm Springs) as Dale and Kiki Layne (if Beale Street can talk). It will also display the sounds of Will Arnett, Eric Bana, Borg Flala, Dennis Haysbert, Keegan-Michael Key, Macneille Tress, Robinson Team, Seth Rogen, J.K. Simmons, and Chris Parnell.
“In films, chips and Dale lives between cartoons and humans in Modern Los Angeles, but their lives are very different now,” read the synopsis. “It has been a few decades since their successful television series was canceled, and chip has surrendered to life in the domestic suburban as an insurance seller. Dale, meanwhile, has undergone CGI surgery and works at the Nostalgian Convention Circuit, despair to revive its heyday. When a former cast partner disappears mysteriously, chips and Dale must improve their destroyed friendship and face detective Rangers their rescue once again to save their friends’ lives. “
Chip ‘N Dale: Rescue Rangers directed by Akiva Schaffer from a scenario written by Dan Gregor and Doug Mand. Producer is Todd Lieberman and David Hoberman, with Alexander Young and Tom Peitzman serving as executive producers.
Made by Tad Stones and Alan Zaslove, the original series aired on the Disney Channel from 1989 to 1990 (the preview episode aired on August 27, 1988). It features the ‘n Dale chip together with their friends Hackwrench gadget, Zipper, and Monterey Jack when they are dealing with some of the most outrageous criminals ever in the world.
